PAT'S BIG ROAD TRIP WEEK FOUR

Hey Everyone,

We have basically stayed a week at Cape Range National Park/Kurrajong/Ningaloo Reef
and we have reception a lot earlier than we thought we would but we have been bush camping at Kurrajong.

One of the Wallabies we saw - Black Flanked Rock Wallaby - can you see it?
And so far this week we have: gone snorkelling with whale sharks, a lot of snorkelling on Ningaloo reef right off the beach where we're camping!!!, seen lots of animals like kangaroos, dingos and even an echidna on the side of the road, where I told someone who works with national geographic a new fact about echidnas and its that they have backwards feet which helps them shovel dirt when there digging.
This is one of the Whale Sharks we swam with

The common Dingo
We've been on a couple of gorge walks the first one I hated but the second one I loved because I swam across Yardie Creek!

So far we have travelled 7167kms!

Tomorrow we are off to Tom Price / Karijini NP, then we head to Broome - I will let you know about all the fun in my next Blog.

Bye!

Pat and I were driving along back to our camp at Kurrajong in the Cape Range National Park and we noticed an Echidna on the side of road. As we went past it, it started to cross the road - not a good thing for this Echidna to do! So we pulled over and waved down traffic so that passing cars would slow down and not hit it. Pat pretty much stood over it to protect it and told everyone driving past about this Echidna. Most people that came past stopped and Pat started telling everyone all of these interesting facts about Echidnas, like that they are monotremes, have backward facing back feet and the like.

Two days later we went on our Whale Shark Swim and Pat was telling one of the staff interesting facts he knew about Whale Sharks. The staff member looked at Pat funnily and asked him if he liked Echidna's! Pat said they are OK, and said that he was excited to have seen one on the side of the road a couple of days ago! Well the staff member said that they had a National Geographic Photographer on their boat yesterday, who was telling everyone about this kid called Pat who was telling him all this fantastic information about Echidnas!

Once we were on the boat, the photographer who works on the boat was one of the people with the National Geographic Photographer - when she saw Patrick she was sooo excited! So funny! Such a coincidence. Never a dull moment as this kid's mum!

PAT'S BIG ROAD TRIP WEEK TWO

Pat's Big Road Trip Week Two

hey guys so far we've been to four new places and they are: Perth/Fremantle, Rottnest island, Nambung National Park and Kalbarri which is where we are as I write this blog post.

When we were in Fremantle me and my dad went to a military base/museum and I corrected one of their displays which was of a Lee-metford mk 2 but it said it was a Lee-enfield mk 1 and as a reward I got a free book.

Me getting my book for picking up their mistake
But my favourite was definitely Rottnest island in fact I cried on the boat ride back to Perth :(
but the reason its my favourite is because of the QUOKKAS!!!!

Dad and I having our Quokka Selfie
After we left Perth we went to Nambung National Park and we saw the pinnacles and Dr Chris from the Living room tv show was there filming!!! Mum was like the paparazzi taking photos of him out the car window!
And we saw stromatolites (the first living organisms) on the same day at Lake Thetis :D

The Pinnacles at Nambung NP - I used to watch this 4WD DVD when I was little that had the pinnacles in it

And now where staying a few nights at Kalbari, AND THERE ARE FRIZZING ARMOURED CARS AND AMPHIBIOUS LANDING CRAFT HERE, AND I GOT TO SIT IN THE DRIVERS SEAT AND TURRET POSITIONS OF BOTH OF THEM OH MY FRIZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me on the rusty armoured car at the Murchison Station where we are staying
We also saw sea scorpion foot prints in the rocks at the Window to the World in Kalbarri National Park
The scorpion footprints are near my fingers

On Sunday we move on to Shark Bay, where we will go to Monkey Mia and the most western part of mainland Australia

And so far we've traveled 4,512 kilometres
See you all in 12 weeks :)

Pats Big Road Trip Week One

Patrick’s Big Road Trip: Week One

We’ve been to six places so far and they are Ballarat, Adelaide, Gilles lake conservation reserve, a few bush campsites, Kimba, and I’m now in Kalgoorlie [I’ll probably be in Perth by the time you see this].

But my favourite one is Kalgoorlie and was also the latest place we’ve been too and stayed the night. But the reason its my favourite is because 1: I made a new friend. And 2: we have Internet ;D ;D ;D.

And I've also been to the Nullabor Road House, I picked up a lizard and saw some southern right whales all on the same day!

And today we went to a gold mine called the super pit and I thought the super pit was amazing it was so big!!! We also visited the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

And so far we’ve travelled 3016 kilometres!!! :]

See you in 3 months and one week!
